The new PotashCorp Children’s Discovery Museum is excited to announce a $250,000 gift from BMO Financial Group. This donation is a part of the capital campaign for the new PotashCorp children’s discovery museum, and takes the campaign to 70% of their goal.
The new PotashCorp Children’s Discovery Museum will open in the iconic Mendel building in early 2019. It will house nine permanent interactive exhibits including Airways, where BMO Financial Group’s gift will be recognized. Airways will be located in the North Gallery, a space that will include numerous interactive exhibits to challenge childrens ideas about movement, sound and space. At Airways, children will load and launch floating objects into a vacuum maze, watch them zoom through tubes up to 20’ in the air, and try to catch them before they float to the ground.
“We’re proud to partner with the new PotashCorp Children’s Discovery Museum, to help reach our shared vision of a better future for the children of Saskatchewan” said Donna Francis, Regional Vice President, Saskatoon Market, BMO Bank of Montreal. “This world class facility will encourage diverse styles of learning, and benefit the future generations of the community through innovative education.”
Executive Director of the new PotashCorp Children’s Discovery Museum, Amanda McReynolds Doran, thanked BMO Financial Group for their gift. “The new PotashCorp Children’s Discovery Museum is so thankful to have the support of BMO Financial Group. With their support, Airways will help children experience science in a unique and artistic way.”
“This gift from BMO Financial Group will enable children to experience the partnership between science and art. It will help them to think and play outside the box,” said KidApproved Capital Campaign Chair, Robin Chapman. “The imprint that this will leave on the children of Saskatchewan will be long lasting.”
